    Administrative Support
    Volunteering for administrative support involves assisting with general clerical duties such as assembling packets, revising manuals, mailing, receptionist work, filing, and various projects. Help assist various departments such as Development, Marketing, Patient Services, Human Resources and Finance.

    Clinic Advocacy
    If you're interested in pro-choice politics then our clinic advocacy program could be just what you're looking for. By joining the clinic advocacy program, you can have a direct effect on issues of choice while working with clinic staff and clients. By speaking with staff and patients you will help educate them on pending legislation and how they can take action. This can include petitioning, voter registration, and letter writing campaigns.

    Requirement: Must attend training necessary for you to go out and talk about the issues that matter most to us. There is a four-hour-per-week minimum commitment for this opportunity. Must be dependable, have reliable transportation, enjoy advocating, and public speaking.

    Clinic Positions
    Volunteer opportunities in health centers include Clinic Assistant, Reproductive Health Assistant, Patient Greeter, and Recovery Room Aid. Training for these positions is offered on a quarterly basis. Clinic positions involve front and back office work and can eventually lead to direct patient contact. We currently don't have externship positions available in our clinics.

    Requirements: Must be available to volunteer 4 hours per week; minimum 6 to 9 month commitment. Ability to serve our clients in a professional and nonjudgmental manner. Work well with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Willingness to perform general office work and help out where needed. Social Service, Medical or Counseling experience a plus. Spanish Speakers needed! Must be 18 years of age or older.

    Community Outreach
    Volunteers represent Planned Parenthood of San Diego & Riverside Counties at public information booths at health fairs, colleges, festivals, and other community events. Promote PPSDRC's mission and services.

    Requirements: 8-16 hours/month, minimum six-month commitment. Comfortable talking to diverse community members and working independently. Must have reliable transportation.

    Human Resources
    Internship and volunteer positions available to assist with staff recruitment, event planning, database upkeep, Internet research, and general office support.

    Requirements: Must be available 4-8 per week during business hours; 4 month commitment required.

    Marketing
    Internship and volunteer positions available to assist with special events, production of brochures, and marketing outreach.

    Requirement: Must have interest in marketing. Minimum of 4-8 hours of work per week during business hours.

    Public Affairs
    Internship and volunteer positions are available to assist in projects such as signature gathering, voter registration, coordinating or staffing a table at a public event, and letter writing. Provide office help with mailings, filing, updating computer files, and mobilizing volunteers. An excellent opportunity for people with a political bent; interested in issues, legislation, and advocacy.

    Speakers Bureau
    Internships are available to give educational talks to schools and community groupsprimarily on the following topics: anatomy, physiology and birth control, teen pregnancy, STI's, abortion. Other topics are occasionally requested.

    Requirement: Must be available during daytime hours, 8 hours a week. Must be enrolled in an educational program and earning credit for internship hours. Must have a flexible enough schedule to accommodate the schedules of the requesting organizations and have reliable transportation.

    Volunteer Night
    Volunteer Night is a fun, no-strings-attached way to volunteer. At Volunteer Night, Planned Parenthood volunteers gather to work on a variety of fun projects. We make patient charts and condom packs, help with Public Affairs mailing, and more. This is a great opportunity to meet other volunteers while helping us with important projects. Great for people who want to help out but don't have time for a weekly commitment.

    Volunteer Program
    Internship and volunteer positions are available working directly for the Volunteer Program to assist with maintaining volunteer program records, event planning, create flyers, newsletter, and reference checks. Must have good organizational and computer skills. Great position for those interested in learning more about program management and the inter-working of a non-profit organization.
