Planned Parenthood of San Diego & Riverside Counties knows that the need for comprehensive reproductive healthcare extends well beyond our borders.

More than 150 million women in developing countries have said they want to plan their family size, but have no means to do so. Family planning would provide voluntary contraception, pre-and post-natal healthcare, and improved medical facilities and sex education. It would give women and men the freedom to plan their family size, thereby decreasing the intense pressure on their health and quality of life.

Surprisingly, the United States isn't doing its part to help. Currently, less than 1% of our total budget is spent on foreign assistance--the least per GNP of all developed countries. If ever there was a time our assistance was needed, this is it. Americans can help make international family planning a reality. We have the ability. We have the resources. All we need now is the desire.
